Mrs. Dawn Parker is passionate about horses, wildlife and the beauty of nature. She loves teaching in a Catholic school because our faith and science walk hand in hand in search of truth. Being at St. Anne allows Mrs. Parker to share her faith with students in ways that other settings don't allow.
“God is an integral part of the entire day, not merely a small chunk of time,” she says. “From attending weekly school mass to starting each day in prayer and also being allowed to point to how the wonders and miracles of all in science are directly attributed to the wonders and mysteries of God, we can experience our faith all day and not merely on Sunday.”
Mrs. Parker earned a B.S. from Texas A&M University. She took several courses in Biomedical Science on a two-year scholarship from the A&M College of Veterinary Medicine. She also completed graduate courses in education at St. Thomas University. Mrs. Parker is also a certfied catechist.
Mrs. Parker began her teaching career in 1993. She holds a certificate in Special Education and served as a DECATS (DeBusk Enrichment Center for Academically Talented Students) instructor for several years. Mrs. Parker is a voracious reader. She enjoys playing Mahjongg with friends and making puzzles with her daughters. She stays active walking her dog, horseback riding and doing yoga. She and Jeff, her husband of 26 years, have two daughters and a son, all of whom are Catholic school graduates.
